As a leading migration agent in Melbourne, True Blue is well placed to offer some valuable insight into what it’s like to live here. So without further ado, and with our tongues firmly in our cheeks, we present 10 reasons why Australia is awesome, as told by GIFs.

The weather is glorious… all the time

Okay, so this may not be entirely true, but Australia is known for being incredibly warm pretty much all year round. While some countries find themselves slowly drowning in rainwater for 51 weeks out of 52, the Australians get to enjoy scorching hot, beautiful weather during the winter season. If that isn’t a reason to buy a one-way plane ticket then we don’t know what is.

Aussies throw a good barbecue

If there is one thing the Aussies are known for across the world, it’s that they say “barbie” a lot, and they’re not talking about the plastic doll. There’s a reason they gave it their own name, and it’s because the Australians know how to throw a darn good barbecue. Probably because they’ve had plenty of practice in the fine weather.

Australia is great for sport

Australia is renowned for producing some of the most talented sports stars in the world, just like this fine rugby gentleman above. Whether you’re a cricket fan or love to argue about Rugby League vs. Rugby Union, you’ll certainly find a sport to keep you entertained. Some high-profile soccer players, such as Italy and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero, have moved to Australia. That’s certainly not a bad advert for the country.

Everyone knows how to party

Again, it must be a side effect of the great weather, but everyone in Australia knows how to relax, kick back and throw a really great party. And it’s not just the beach-loving humans, even the animals know how to get in on the action! Just like this amazing air guitar-playing kangaroo.

You’ll find your inner daredevil

Bungee jumping, skydiving, cliff jumping; if there’s a dangerous activity to be done, the Aussies will do it! All jokes aside, those living Down Under understand that you only have one life to live and aren’t afraid to get the blood pumping and the adrenaline flowing.

Overwhelmingly adorable animals

Even those with the coldest of hearts can’t help but stifle an “aww” when they set their sights on some of Australia’s cutest critters. Forget about the snakes and the spiders, and everything else for that matter, and just bask in the sheer joy of this charming Quokka munch away with his little waggling ears.

Aussies know how to surf

It’s a skill that everyone wants to learn and, let’s admit it, we all think we’ll be amazing at it. But when it actually comes to stepping on the board and being faced with a 20-foot wave, we all wish we were back on safe dry land. But if you’re determined to master the board, then Australia is certainly the place to do it. Not only do the Aussies really know what to do, you’ll be able to hone your skills on some killer waves.

Everyone is happy!
