Australia’s Permanent Parent Visas Move to Online Lodgement via ImmiAccount
From 22 April 2026, the Department of Home Affairs (DoHA) is introducing a major change to how permanent Parent visa applications are lodged. All four permanent Parent visa subclasses will move to online lodgement via ImmiAccount.
Paper applications will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances (for example, verified ImmiAccount technical issues confirmed by the eServices Support Helpdesk).
This update applies to the following permanent Parent visa subclasses:
- Subclass 103 Parent (Migrant) visa
- Subclass 143 Contributory Parent (Migrant) visa
- Subclass 804 Aged Parent (Residence) visa
- Subclass 864 Contributory Aged Parent (Residence) visa
These changes are introduced under the Migration (Arrangements for Parent Visa Applications) Instrument 2026.
